1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Doom Scroll ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
2. Description of Service
Doom Scroll is an entertainment application that displays an aggregated content feed sourced from third-party publishers, alongside a scroll-distance tracking feature and related achievements. Doom Scroll does not create, verify, or endorse third-party content and is not responsible for its accuracy.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the App. If you are under 18, you represent that you have your parent or guardian's permission to use the App.
4. Accounts
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.
5. Subscriptions & Billing
Doom Scroll offers an optional paid subscription ("Premium") billed monthly through Stripe. Subscriptions automatically renew each billing period unless canceled before the renewal date. You may cancel at any time through your account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Fees are non-refundable except where required by law. We reserve the right to change subscription pricing with advance notice.
6. User-Generated Content
If the App allows you to post content (comments, community posts, etc.), you retain ownership of what you post but grant Doom Scroll a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to display, distribute, and store that content within the App. You are solely responsible for content you submit and represent that it does not violate any law or third party's rights.
7. Prohibited Conduct
You agree not to: (a) use the App for unlawful purposes; (b) attempt to bypass usage limits, paywalls, or verification systems; (c) upload harmful code or attempt to disrupt the App's operation; (d) harass other users or post unlawful, defamatory, or infringing content.
8. Third-Party Content & Links
The App aggregates and links to third-party articles and websites. Doom Scroll has no control over and assumes no responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party sites.
9. Intellectual Property
The App's design, branding, and original content are owned by Doom Scroll and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Third-party content remains the property of its respective owners.
10. Disclaimers
The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. Doom Scroll does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Doom Scroll shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App.
12. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, with or without cause or notice, including for violation of these Terms.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
14. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to conflict of law principles.
